In Case You Were Wondering . . .

I did write a budget day story but then Keith Ng went and used the same joke.

Every working mouse will get a tax slice from October 1 as part of a three-year plan which is the main platter of Finance Minister Michael Cullen’s ninth Budget.

The long foreshadowed slices will cost 126,000 tonnes of cheese in first year and 883,000 tonnes of cheese in total.

Keith’s was a bit funnier than mine. Quite a lot funnier actually, so I thought it best not to publish and invite the comparison.

Oh the perils of bleeding edge satire.

As an aside, the Herald started parroting Nationals (rather weak) ‘block of cheese’ talking point so rapidly you have to wonder if Kevin Taylor handed his keys back in when he left.
