Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate poses for Runners World Magazine.

Vanity Fair have a not-terribly-flattering profile of Palin here. The Runners World photo shoot appears to be part of Palin’s strategy to position herself for a 2012 presidential run. Obama should be so lucky.

  1. Kind of wondering what the message is there… is it, “Presidents: The hotter the better”

And is that a set of uggs behind her? Like she’s ready to pick off those runners and settle under a blankie with you?

  2. Well she can’t screw up as badly last time – it really was all a bit sudden for her. But, will be eager to see how she goes in the primaries – if she can get past that she might’ve sorted her shit out. PJ O’Rourke reckoned she was too media-trained and ‘not herself’, i’m a tad sceptical.

  3. It’s just great theatre, isn’t it? Fiction writers must again be cursing the raw truth as unreasonable competition.

  4. Jebus, put away your ‘throbbing” thinghs, woman. This kind of thing seems hardly likely to expand her fan base beyond the sexist rednecks who thought she was a good idea last time. It’s hilarious how they’ve kept her all ‘sexy librarian’ from the neck up – ‘cos every woman runs with a full kit of makeup, glasses, and styled hair, dontcha know.

  6. Rarely do you see a photo where almost everything in it has a sense of falseness and veneer.

  7. Looks like she has been overdoing the Piz Buin on the legs

  8. “If free will exists, why do the tallest candidates with the best hair usually win elections?” – Scott Adams.

Would those legs alone be worth a couple of voting points?

  9. As long as Palin sends Sullivans blood pressure through the roof it’s worth it. Most people have moved on.

if she did run she would have no chance even if she did metamorphose into a credible candidate. She would be facing a a Democrat behemoth which next time wouldn’t be suffering an identity politics crisis.

  10. Obviously you’ve never read a copy of Runner’s World… or any American magazine, for that matter…
