A hero with aryan features who likes being raped will rise . . .

The trailer for the second part of Atlas Shrugged is out. The sixteen year old boy inside me who really loved that book is genuinely excited by this. But he will be overruled by the thirty-eight year old who doesn’t have time to waste watching awful films.

  1. ISn’t AS full of really long boring speeches? So how did they manage to get so many sound bites for the promo? Makes me wonder if it;s really true to the holy word

PS Imagine how many parts it would have been in if Peter Jackson was the director. Then breathe a sigh of relief

  2. Oliver Stone’s JFK has a 40 minute speech that is completely riveting – and Atlas Shrugged is no less a delusional, paranoid fantasy. They could pull it off!

  3. Insider, the first part was really, painfully faithful to the novel — so faithful that it failed to capture the soul of a work that, for all its many faults, has been an inspiration to thousands of people. I have no real hope that the second part will be any better — although the actors have all been changed (in case you were wondering why Dagny has lost four inches and gained 20 years, and why Hank now talks like Bruce Willis) the vainglorious fools in the driver’s seat are the same.

  4. Oh, IF ONLY they had gotten Oliver Stone to direct Atlas Shrugged.

  5. Jerry Bruckheimer would have been a great option.

    Think of the explosions!

  7. It’s almost like “Dianetics” being made into a movie (Scientologists would never allow that to happen, but objectivist anarcho-capitalists love the attention and spreading of the word).
