Broken fingers

Filed under: Uncategorized — danylmc @ 6:25 am

On Monday night I dislocated and broke two fingers in my right hand in two places (my three year old daughter jumped off a bank, and I caught her but the ground gave under me and I held out my free hand to break our fall). My right arm is now in a cast, as shown below. Also, I cut my foot and it’s infected. All this means I won’t be blogging much, if at all, for the next four-to-six weeks.

  9. I obviously don’t give a fuck about your hand or foot. But congrats on saving your daughter. For your posts and Facebook page, she sounds like a cool kid. Take care.

  11. Great selection of books but that white thing in the foreground is blocking some of the titles.

Seriously though, ouch. Commiserations. Time to try Dragon Dictate software ?

  12. All the best! Funnily enough, A friend of mine just broke her wrist wrestling with a midget in Las Vegas.

  13. I’d be sorting out that horrendous phone bill tbh.

  14. Should have taken a more centrist position. Veering too far to the right was your undoing. Just look at Matthew Hooton. Years of contortions on the right has left him spineless and with a recto-cranial inversion.

  18. When I saw the “Broken Fingers” title on Kiwiblog I was sure it was going to be a trenchant (but wrong) comment on community policing, a variation on Broken Windows. But, no! Get well soon.

You might use the time to sort out your bookshelves. At least put the Sagans together.

  22. What often appears to be solid ground frequently turns out to be rather less solid than we would like.

Also, good job making a one-handed catch and hold!

  25. ouch, sending sympathy. Healing broken bones can make you really tired in my experience, don’t be alarmed if you start to crave nana naps for a while.

  27. You’re a touch-typer, right? You’ve only lost the letters o, p, and l, a bunch of symbols you don’t really need, the delete/backspace and return keys, plus the ability to pose questions. It could be the making of a distinctive new style.

  28. Stand by for some big political news tomorrow – always follows any Dim-Post announcement of a blogging break. Key to resign, probably.

  30. Deepest sympathies. Having one’s right hand “hors de combat” is a bloody nuisance when it comes to typing. Then there’s the pain, though it does pass. Eventually. And typing may be good rehab once the plaster’s off. Best wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery.

  35. *ouch* It’s hard being Superman when we break so easily.

A few years back I broke and dislocated a little toe and that was annoying enough. The bruising was exquisite.
